Company Profile	WHERE IT ALL BEGAN Why Dielle? Dielle means God or belonging to God and a name given to all the 3 children of Luke and Dr. Myla V. Macababbad. Myla is my daughter, the eldest of 3 children and a mother of 3 kids, Dielle Alura (God’s Divine Councilor), Dielle Verona (God’s Image of Truth) and Osias Dielle (Salvation God). All God given, and thus we named the business Dielle. THE APIARY With a friend’s invitation, Luke started it as a hobby. After attending a 5-day seminar on beekeeping, Luke put up 4 colonies of bees in our backyard in 2001. Everybody in the house has experienced bee sting (at least once), not that the bees are sting joy-toting insects but because we accidentally stepped or lied on them as they came visiting inside our house. Bees as any other insects are attracted to lights at night. The first harvest gave out 100 kilos of honey, very encouraging for a beginner. With more diligence and technical know-how, the production increased as per colony and more colonies were set up. We have now several colonies set up in Muntinlupa, San Pedro, Laguna and in Batangas. Most of the honeys are being used to make honey wine. THE MEADERY I guess it all began with me. Experience in clandestine making of wine and other forms of spirits in a country where liquor is prohibited laid the foundation of Dielle’s Meadery. After being forced to retire at age 48 because of a burning accident while operating a distilling machine, I decided not to sulk off the misfortune but to make myself busy and useful. In that, I would say, I was successful. It was in the year 2002, when I noticed the honey being harvested from bee colonies at our backyard. Processed nectars gathered by bees from flowers, organic. Wow! Why not honey wine? So with 2 gallons of honey, I started my first batch. At that time, I did not even know that honey wine or mead was already being done a long time ago in Europe and in the USA as I learned in the web much, much later. Fermentation time was just as long as in grape wine making, about 45 days. Several months later after the stuff cleared, with great anxiety, I tasted my first honey wine. Good, in fact very good. Relatives, neighbours and friends like it also. That started the next and more batches as many as the production of honey can offer.
