Antiques	Lots of furniture are made from recycled wood; wood taken from old buildings that have been torn down. Old wood is very durable and stable and will not experience the movement(expansion/contraction) that besets new wood that has not been sufficiently dried. We also use stumps and roots of trees that have fallen due to natural causes. These pieces are aged and dried before being handcrafted into fine pieces of furniture and artifacts.
Wood Arts	Narra is the national tree of the Philippines. The color qualities make it a very durable hardwood. The wood is moderately hard and heavy and has good processing-qualities. If it is dried well, it hardly shrinks, does not tend to crack-formation and is very resistant to fungi and insects. The wood has a pleasant, long persistent cedar-smell. Very smooth surfaces with fine shine can be generated by planning and polishing procedures. Kamagong or Mabolo is a fruit tree which is grown for its rich-tasting fruit as well as its beautifully grained black timber, which is used in furniture making. It is an extremely hard wood found only in the Philippines; it is a wood that some say is nearly indestructible. In ancient times, this wood was used to make weapons such as knives and swords. It has grayish or mottled sapwood and black heartwood with brownish streaks. Kamagong is increasingly hard to find now, and in its pure black form, is one of the five most rare woods in the world.
